CitationOne Terms of Service

1. General Provisions

These Terms of Service govern the use of the CitationOne service available at app.citationone.com, operated by Seowp Wojciech Wladzinski, ul. Nieborowska 36, 80-034 Gdansk, Poland, NIP: 9840163453 (hereinafter: “Operator”).

CitationOne is a tool for auditing web content for optimization for AI search engines (AI Search), such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and Bing Copilot.

2. Definitions

• Service - the CitationOne application available at app.citationone.com
• User - a natural or legal person using the Service after logging in
• Audit - an analysis of web content performed by the Service
• Credit - a unit enabling one full audit to be performed
• Account - an individual User account in the Service, created automatically upon first login

3. Registration and Login

Registration occurs automatically upon first login. Only an email address is required to use the Service. Login is performed using a one-time verification code (OTP) sent to the provided email address, or via Google OAuth (Sign in with Google).

The User agrees to provide a valid email address to which they have access. Every new account receives 3 free audit credits.

4. Scope of Service

The Service provides the following tools:

• Content Audit - analysis across 11 AI Search quality dimensions, comparison with competitors from Google search results, reports with BEFORE/AFTER recommendations, Markdown file export, and report sharing via a public link
• Bulk Audit - auditing multiple URLs in a single request, up to 100 addresses per batch; each address gets its own report
• Keyword Clustering - grouping keywords by Google search result similarity, with content pillar suggestions
• Pruning - sitemap-based analysis of cannibalization and proposals for content removal or consolidation
• Schema Audit (Schema Gaps) - sitemap-based analysis of schema.org structured data
• Internal Linking - internal linking suggestions with anchor-text matching
• Applying recommendations to content - generating a corrected version of the article based on selected audit recommendations, together with a measurement of the result after the changes
• Public API - submitting audits and retrieving results from your own system (section 5)

Running a single tool (URL audit, clustering, pruning, schema audit, internal linking) consumes 1 credit. Bulk audit consumes 1 credit per audited URL. Generating corrected content and expanding a cluster with additional keywords also consume 1 credit each, with the first 3 expansions within a single clustering run free of charge; reopening previously generated content is free. Refreshing an audit is a new audit and consumes 1 credit. Additional credits can be purchased through the payment system available in the Service.

When at least 100 credits are purchased in a single order, the Service adds bonus credits equal to a percentage of the purchased credits: from 100 credits - 10%, from 200 credits - 20%, from 300 credits - 30%. The number of bonus credits is rounded down. Orders placed with a discount code do not receive bonus credits.

A report can be shared through a public link. From that moment anyone who knows the address can view the report without logging in - including the company name and logo, if the User added them. The link can be revoked at any time, and an expiry date can be set when it is created.

5. Public API

The Service provides a public API through which the User submits audits and retrieves results from their own system. The documentation is available at app.citationone.com/api-docs.

• Access requires a key generated in the “API” panel. The key is confidential and identifies the account - the User is responsible for requests made with their key. A key can be revoked at any time in the panel, and the Operator may block it in case of abuse.
• API requests consume credits on the same terms as the panel: 1 credit per audit, 1 credit per address in a bulk request.
• Limits apply to the number of requests and to the number of audits running at the same time. Above those limits the Service responds with code 429 together with information on when to retry. Current limit values are stated in the documentation.
• Repeating a request with the same Idempotency-Key header does not create a second audit and does not charge the credit again.
• The User may specify a webhook address to which the Service sends a notification once an audit finishes. The User is responsible for the security of that address and for the data delivered to it.
• An audit submitted through the API is not shared publicly unless the User explicitly requests it in the request body.

The Operator develops the API in a backward-compatible way: additions to the contract (new fields, new operations) do not change the addresses of existing resources. A change that breaks existing usage comes with a new API version under a separate address, and the previous version remains available for the period stated in the documentation.

6. Technical Requirements

To use the Service you need a device with internet access, an up-to-date web browser with JavaScript and cookies enabled, and an active email account to receive one-time login codes. The Service runs in the browser and requires no additional software.

Using the public API additionally requires a key generated in the panel and the ability to send HTTPS requests (section 5).

7. Payments

The seller of audit credits is the Operator (section 1). Payments are handled technically by Easytools, the provider of the checkout and payment gateway at cart.easy.tools. This means:

• The Operator is the seller of credits and the invoice issuer
• Invoices are issued without VAT - the Operator benefits from the VAT exemption under Article 113(1) and (9) of the Polish VAT Act. Where the law requires VAT to be settled in the buyer’s country, in particular for sales to consumers in other European Union countries after the EUR 10,000 threshold is exceeded (the VAT OSS scheme), the invoice includes VAT at that country’s rate
• Easytools handles the payment process; the Operator does not store payment data (cards, bank accounts)
• Purchased credits are added to the account automatically after payment confirmation

Payment complaints should be directed to the Operator, who reviews them directly as the seller. Refunds are made under section 8.

8. Right of Withdrawal and Refunds

A User who is a consumer, as well as a natural person entering into a contract directly related to their business activity where the contract is not of a professional nature for them, has the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days of concluding it, without giving a reason.

Purchasing credits constitutes the supply of digital content not delivered on a tangible medium. By placing an order, the User requests that performance begin before the withdrawal period expires and acknowledges that using a credit forfeits the right of withdrawal with respect to the credits used. Purchased credits remaining on the account when the withdrawal statement is submitted are refunded in full.

A withdrawal statement can be sent to kontakt@citationone.com, stating the account email address and the purchase date. The refund is issued without undue delay and no later than 14 days from receipt of the statement, using the same payment method. The refund is processed by the Operator as the seller (section 7), and the corresponding credits are removed from the account.

Credits granted free of charge - welcome credits, bonus credits (section 4) and credits from the referral program - are not refundable in cash. A refund for part of a purchase is settled as if the order had covered fewer credits from the start: the bonus is recalculated using the thresholds for that number, and bonus credits no longer due at that number are removed from the account.

9. Complaints

A complaint regarding the operation of the Service or a payment can be submitted to kontakt@citationone.com. The complaint should include the account email address, a description of the problem and - for payment matters - the date and amount of the transaction.

The Operator reviews complaints within 14 days of receipt and replies to the email address the complaint was sent from. Payment complaints are reviewed by the Operator directly as the seller.

If an audit fails due to an error on the Service side, the credit returns to the User's account automatically - no complaint needed. This applies both to audits started in the panel and to those submitted through the API.

10. Referral (Affiliate) Program

Any logged-in User may participate in the referral program by sharing their unique referral link available on the “Referral program” page.

• When a new person arrives via a referral link, a cookie (co_ref) valid for 30 days is stored in their browser. If they create an account within that period, they are permanently attributed to the referrer (first click wins).
• The referrer is entitled to a commission equal to a percentage of the net value (excluding VAT) of every payment made by the referred User within 2 years of the referral date. The commission base is the amount paid excluding VAT. As long as the Operator benefits from the VAT exemption (see section 7), the amount paid by the referred User is at the same time the net value. The current commission rate and the period over which it accrues are shown in the “Referral program” panel. Referrers who joined the program on earlier terms have their commission calculated on the gross value - the more favourable condition remains in force.
• Commission accrues once a payment is settled. A refund of the entire payment cancels the corresponding commission that has not yet been paid out. A refund of part of the payment does not change the accrued commission.
• Commissions are paid out manually by the Operator after approval, based on payout details voluntarily provided by the referrer. The Operator may set a minimum payout threshold.
• The referrer is solely responsible for settling any taxes due on commissions received.
• Abuse is prohibited, in particular: self-referral, creating fake accounts, spam, and misleading forms of promotion. In case of abuse, the Operator may withhold or cancel commissions and exclude the User from the program.
• The Operator reserves the right to change the commission rate, the terms, or to terminate the referral program at any time. Such changes do not affect commissions already approved for payout.

11. Marketing Communications

• The Operator may send the User marketing messages (information about new features, updates, offers, and the referral program) only after the User has given separate, voluntary consent - via a dedicated checkbox at registration or in the account Settings.
• Marketing consent is independent of using the Service - withholding it does not restrict access to any features.
• Regardless of marketing consent, the Operator sends messages necessary to provide the service (e.g., one-time login codes, account-related notifications), which do not require separate consent.
• Consent may be withdrawn at any time, without giving a reason: by clicking the “Unsubscribe” link in the footer of every marketing message, or by unchecking consent in the account Settings. Unsubscription is processed promptly.
• Marketing messages are sent via the provider Resend (details in the Privacy Policy).

12. Liability

Audit results are informational and advisory in nature. The Operator does not guarantee:

• Specific ranking or citation results by AI search engines
• Accuracy of competitor scoring (based on algorithmic and AI analysis)
• Uninterrupted operation of the Service (planned maintenance is possible)

The User uses audit results at their own risk. The Operator is not liable for decisions made based on reports.

13. Intellectual Property Rights

The CitationOne Service, its source code, scoring algorithms, AI prompts, and user interface are the intellectual property of the Operator.

The User retains full rights to audited content and generated reports. Reports may be freely used, shared, and published by the User.

14. Usage Restrictions

The User agrees to:

• Use the Service in accordance with its intended purpose
• Not attempt to circumvent the credit system or limits
• Not audit content that violates the law (e.g., illegal content, content infringing third-party copyrights)
• Not use the Service in a manner that could disrupt its operation

The Operator reserves the right to block the account of a User who violates these Terms.

15. Account Deletion

The User may delete their account at any time from the Settings page. Account deletion is irreversible and results in permanent removal of associated data: email address, audits, reports, EAV triples, and feedback. Billing data (payment records) and referral-program commission data are retained for the period required by tax and accounting law. Unused credits are non-refundable, except when withdrawing from the contract under section 8.

16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

The contract is governed by Polish law. This choice of law does not deprive a consumer of the protection afforded by the mandatory provisions of the law of their country of habitual residence.

Disputes with a User who is not a consumer are settled by the court having jurisdiction over the Operator's registered office. Disputes with a consumer are settled by the court determined under general rules.

A consumer may use out-of-court complaint and redress procedures, in particular mediation at the provincial inspectorates of the Trade Inspection and assistance from a district or municipal consumer ombudsman. Information about these procedures is published by the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection at uokik.gov.pl.

17. Changes to Terms

The Operator reserves the right to modify these Terms. Users will be informed of significant changes through the Service. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
